“New Jersey Cowboy”, a single track release, traces its roots back to many of the popular stereotypes dumped on all us good folks who live here in the Garden State...and has fun with them...because we do too.
No, we are not myopic like our neighborly New Yorkers (ouch). We try to get along with our countrymen and welcome their ideas and ways, to the extent possible. Tolerance is very important, but so is the availability of remote acreage for the disposal of inconvenient “problems”. That’s why we support green space preservation.
But believe me, not everyone here’s a mobster, despite media promotion to the contrary. We’ll have to work dat out with those no good ##$!s who spread that myth. Educate ''em…in a non-threatening way of course. What are ya thinkin’, huh? Relax a minute.
And the Turnpike, what a thing of beauty. Do you know, transportation experts come from around the world to learn how to run a road like these guys do. And now, some people from you know where want to sell it all for a quick buck. We’ll have to work dat out with those no good ##$!s too.
Which brings me to my horse, poor old fella. Sometimes he forgets who I am when I stop in, that good for nothin’. But I love him. He spends all his time with the mares and other stallions, hey, it’s a free world, don’t bother me none. I get a stud fee when things go right, so it’s win-win all around. He looks happy. Good for him.
But ultimately, the guitars in the song kind of cry a little, kinda down in the soul it resonates right here in my heart, ‘cause sometimes dat’s the way I feel. Lucky me.
