George Sanford Jackson’s first album – „Alright“ has been released.
The album promises to please listeners who appreciate music combining the elements of pop, rock, country, folk, R&B and songs with a straight forward beat and catchy licks, as well as gripping ballads.
Jackson’s strong, soulful voice with an unmistakable country touch, together with his talent of writing intuitive songs with clever, drawn from life lyrics, ensure a toe-tapping, passionate and exciting album.
The first song on this album „Nothing Ain’t Right“ with it’s midtempo beat and cynical lyrics is followed by the bouncy sing-along tune „A Woman Needs A Man“ and the riff driven „Amazing“. Jackson then pleases the listener with the memorable pop song „She’s Alright“ and the story telling „Easy Livin’“, arranged in a classic West Coast style. „Why Did You Love Me“ is a melancholy ballad with beautiful backing vocal arrangements where Jackson shows his talent as a singer, composer and arranger. The Cajun-music influenced „Lay Off Of Me“ and finger-snappin’ country-pop tune „It Doesn’t Matter To Me“ are the fun songs on this album and are followed by the grungy, wah-wah guitar loaded and sexy „Give Me Love“. The album ends with „How I Miss You“, a melancholy love song, which shouldn’t leave anyone with a heart untouched.
All of this adds up to a well-crafted and elaborate album, assembled by Jackson’s skill as a songwriter, musician and vocalist. It is to be noticed that Jackson released a true one-man-band album, allowing no one but himself to ever lay hands upon his work, which lead to this unique creation. Composition, arrangement, programming, recording, instrumental and vocal performance, pre-mastering and album artwork were solely done by Jackson in his studio in Vienna, Austria. Only for the last step, the separation-mastering process, he teamed up with mastering genius John Vestman in California, USA.
Since George Sanford Jackson is also releasing the album on his own label, fittingly named „Forty And Over“ this release is almost like a new debut for the 45 year old artist.
Personal: Born in Aberdeen, Maryland USA in 1962, George S. Jackson spent his early years in Virginia and California before moving to Vienna, Austria at the age of six. As a child he started singing and composing his own songs on the piano and took professional piano lessons until discovering the guitar to be the right instrument for his style of music and to accompany his singing. During the time in high school and college, the artist had his own rock & roll bands, playing gigs in clubs, concert halls and festivals. The bands were locally successful, winning several newcomer band contests and touring through parts of Austria. After jackson''s last band broke up in the mid 80''s, he established a recording studio, composing and producing radio and TV jingles. His most recent project was the production of his own CD "Alright".
