Lisa Manning and Derek Deakins are a "couple" of fiddlers that live in Nashville, Tennessee. They attend Belmont University there and are pursuing degrees in music. They met at Belmont during auditions for the Bluegrass Ensemble. Both Lisa and Derek made the ensemble and play twin fiddles with the group.
Both of the fiddlers began in the Suzuki violin program at an early age but later on in their careers, found a love for bluegrass, country, celtic, contest style, and old-time styles of playing.
Lisa and Derek want to keep living in Nashville when they graduate from college and work as professional musicians.
Outside of school, Derek plays fiddle with the legendary Osborne Brothers. Tune in to the Grand Ole Opry to hear them sometime!
Listen to bluegrass singing legend, Bobby Osborne, sing "Tennesse Houndog" on Lisa and Derek''s "Double Fiddle Time" CD.
