ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: Power Pop
Details:
Saturday Morning: “Saturday Morning” is a metaphor for everything that’s good and taken for granted in life. It’s also about remembering what it was like to be a little kid.
Falling Away: Written a while back, it’s about my sister Marilyn and her breakup with a cheating ex. (This was written way before she met Doug, who rocks.)
Bleed: …about the fact that we tend to ignore the issues around us. And about making a choice to take a stand.
Eternidad: A samba written for my grandparents the year they died.
Been There: It’s about finding strength in the fact that you’re not alone. In a deeper sense, it’s about realizing that God has already taken the fall for you.
Maybe: It’s fictional and moody, but it’s also a song about regrets and realizing that you’re the one that messed things up.
Race with the Nazgul on an Elvish Highway: Pop guitar instrumental. Written around the time I was seeing a cardiologist (false alarm) and originally titled, “Why the long face?” because the doctor had a literally long face.
Nuages Gris Metamorphosis I, II, and III: An art piece originally written as a project for a class. It pays homage to Franz Liszt.
I and II: Deal with emotions of torment, pain, suffering, and all the awful things we go through. Part I is the original Liszt song in techno form.
III: Titled “Letting Go”. It’s about letting go of all of the things that cause you pain, giving it over to God, and finally feeling unburdened.
Saturday Morning (demo mix): Recorded 10 years ago!
The Sweetest Sound: About Celeste and how awesome she is. Whatever nice things you can think of, just make it times 10 and it will be an accurate representation of her.
Picture Play: A song based on two movies I really like. It uses lines and imagery from both movies. (If you think you can guess which movies, drop me a line and I’ll let you know if you’re right!)
