BOHEMIO LATINO was founded by PORFIRIO OTERO in Kiev-95, when he was studying there. By that time Porfirio had already written many https://www.tradebit.com first entire album,HARMONIA TROPICAL;was published in 97 in Finland.
The principal idea of Porfirio´ s songs is to combine traditional rhythms from his own country Nicaragua and Latin America with classic European music. This album is a delicious mix of Latin rhythms:cumbia,son, bolero, rumba, mambo, Nigaraguan mazurka and two traditional Mexican mariachi folksongs “Flor sin retono” and “Gavilan Poller” with original Mexican instruments: vihuela and gitarron.

The leader of the band, Porfirio Otero, has written a collection of songs that goes together well with
for instance the evergreen “ Historia de un amor”.
Among the musicians in the band we find the Cuban bassist Carlos D´ l Puerto, who co-founded
the legendary group https://www.tradebit.comer 28 years with the Grammy award-winning Irakere,D` l Puerto decided to put the technique of electric bass playing and Cuban music into textbooks and conservatory courses.
At the beginning of the new millennium he found a new residence for himself in town of Turku,the former centre and capital of Finland. From Turku, this bass player has lectured at the most prestigious music colleges, conservatories, bass clinics and music festivals all over the world, as well as focusing on the local and national institutions of musical learning, orchestras and concert halls in Finland.
RHYTHM- THE VOICE OF LATIN MUSIC

CARLOS D´ l PUERTO
Bassist CARLOS D´ l PUERTO is considered by many to be the utmost authority on the role of a bass in Afro Cuban music.
As a young man, he secured his place in music history as a founding member of the legendary group IRAKERE, along with Chuco Valdes, Paquito D´ Rivera and other luminaries.
IRAKERE carned in a Grammy in 1979 for best Latin Recording, and was nominated again in 1980.
During the last decade, he has been awarded two of Cuba’s highest honours: The Order for National Culture for his contributions to the arts, and the Cuban Rebublic´ s pedagogical merit for his contributions to the development of education.
Today, in addition to performing and appearing on more than 60 recordings, he is working as an author, a dedicated educator and a rich fountain of knowledge.
In this new album EL TROPICO, Carlos D´ l Puerto cordially shakes hands with musicians living in Finland who love Latin Music.
TOMÀS JIMENO
Percussionist and teacher TOMÀS JIMENO was born in the centre of the Afro-Cuban musical milieu of Matanza,Cuba.
TOMÀS JIMENO´ s pedagogical career started in -63 in Cuba, and later he taught and played in several countries in https://www.tradebit.com a musician he first visited Finland -87,when Afrocuba de Matanza was performing in Kaustinen and Pori Jazz.
Today he is permanently living in Helsinki and was invited to be the teacher of Afro-Cuban music in Sibelius Academy Tomàs Jimeno has been playing with most Finnish bands who play salsa and Cuban music.
