Hello!
I just wanted to take up a small amount of your time to introduce myself and give you a little background on myself.
My name is William Hank Mizell but I answer to Bill. For the past 21 years, I have been working in the construction business, mostly building Log Homes. I sub-contract my houses through Mr. Log Homes, located on top of Mont Eagle near Chattanooga, Tn. I have a long history in the music field but, so far, only locally.
My father was Hank Mizell and he was well known all over Europe for a #1 Rockabilly hit, in 1976, called "Jungle Rock". Perhaps you have heard of him. He passed away back in 1992.
My two brothers and I were a three piece band that played, as I mentioned, mainly locally. We (including my father) had the privilege of meeting and playing with Cub Coda and Brownsville Station in Maine when we were younger. It was a very memorable experience and we had a great time learning things from them. Before this event, we mainly played country and gospel music. I actually cut a record at the age of 10 and was sure this was my true calling in life. As we got older, we did dabble in a lot of Rock and Roll. Yet, we always seemed to return to our country roots. Tragically, right around the time my brothers and I were starting to get into dedicating our time to writing originals and trying to get into the business full-time, my middle brother, Mark, passed away from sleep apnea. This happened in October of 2003. We were, to say the least, devastated at his unexpected death. My youngest brother, Alan, took it harder than any of us realized and we were very upset when 6 months later, he also passed away from sleep apnea.
My first CD, "Before I''m Gone", is dedicated, not only to my father, but also to my two younger brothers. My father was our inspiration and my brothers and I were very close. After having lost all three of them, I have felt very alone, even deserted, but am more determined than ever to carry out our plans of being involved in the music business.
I am now trying to find my own way of keeping their music and dreams alive, as well as my own. My mother has really helped me through our time of mourning, and she is now more determined than ever for me to keep their memory alive. Her name is Rosemary, and I am very proud to say that she also has a great talent for writing songs. I love her dearly, and would like for her to see some progress in my efforts before she is gone, too.
I hope I haven''t taken up too much of your time, but hope this helps you feel like you know me a little better.
I thank you, in advance, for any help and support you can give me in reaching my goals. I also plan on releasing another CD sometime this summer. I trust you would be interested in purchasing this and helping me to broaden my horizons and helping me to keep their memory and talents alive the only way I know how.
Thank you for your time and attention. I truly believe these songs do my brothers and father the justice of their talents and am proud to be able to put them out for others to enjoy.
"BEFORE I''M GONE",
BILL MIZELL
