Country music has a new name. It''s Billy McKnight. This energetic singer was new to the independent charts just a few years ago, and climbed toward the top with tracks such as ''All-American'' and ''You Wanna Make Somethin of It''. With a wide vocal range, and impressive stage presence, Billy has become one of the best “crowd pleasers” country music has seen in some time.
Billy''s musical interest began early. Growing up with a mom who sang and played guitar, Billy was introduced to a variety of music – from “fifties” rock and roll to whatever was current at the time including ballads, and country. His early heroes included Conway Twitty, the Everley Brothers, Loretta Lynn, The Eagles, E.T. Conley, the Righteous Brothers and Garth Brooks. But one of his favorite singers was Roy Orbison. When “karaoke” hit the scene, Roy’s songs were his favorite to sing. Because of his talents and drive he finally started moving toward his goal and landed a spot on Ed MacMahons’ “Star Search”. Although he didn’t win, he realized then that this was the dream he needed to pursue.
Having worked in the family business, Billy finally had a career choice to make. He met the challenge and relocated to Nashville, Tennessee and recorded his first album, "All-American." The learning experience alone and the doors he has since managed to open have only made him push harder and harder. Now after working with some of the best producers in country music, he has remixed and remastered several of his songs, and even added a few new songs, including the new hit, Talk About Love. They''re included in his new self-titled debut album, available now.
