KIDS/FAMILY: Children''s Pop, ROCK: Roots Rock

Details:
The Elbows are four friends from Cape Cod who got together one summer day to play music for some kids and thier families...and they haven’t stopped since! The music is fun loving for kids of all ages. Many of the songs from their live shows are included on their first CD "The Elbows." This band will make you groove, move, sway and play.

Emma, J, Julia and Brett. The Elbows have been playing shows for kids of all ages on Cape Cod and beyond since circa 2000. Since then they’ve played to thousands of eager kids who dance and shake to the infectious grooves.

Lets meet the Elbows!

Emma Dubner
Elbows founder and bass slinging rocker, Emma lends the low end to the rock steady rhythm section. Also a founding member of The Ticks, an agitprop female trio of pop-punk ambrosia, Emma took her love of children and music and combined them to form the Elbows. With a background in teaching at Cape Cod Child Development, Emma knows how to reach children and let them share in music, bringing them closer to the band, and the band closer to them. Always seeking, Emma looks for gold on the river.

J. Cournoyer
J has been playing music on Cape Cod longer than a sea captain singing sea shanties on the Mayflower.* Sitting behind the drums for the Elbows is old (high) hat for J, having founded several bands on Cape Cod over the years. A talented writer, song-singer and multi-instrumentalist, J is as comfortable with a guitar, sitar, weird Chinese stuff, or the oboe as he is behind the drums.

Julia Randall
Otherwise known at “Miss Randall.” Fearless science teacher to seventh graders at Mattacheese Middle School in West Yarmouth. On riddem guitar and singing her tail off, she fills the Elbow’s swirling pop melodies with harmonious aplomb. Also a founding member of The Ticks. With her background in theatre, Julia’s natural storytelling shines through the Elbows songs.

Brett “Workin” Dubner
A guitar devotee since high school, Dubner rocks the jams and fills the sills with tasty guitar licks that would make Insane Dwayne the Southbound Train** jealous. Dubner chips in for birdie here with singing, taking lead vocals on the eponymous Workin Dubner and laying down edible guitar fungoes on all the tracks. Dubner has played guitar and good vibes with any number of musicians from Oneonta to Coral Gables to Cape Cod. Dubner loves to sing and play; he’s chipper for a jam.

The Elbows will rock your next kids party, school assembly or cookout. They bring hand held instruments and percussion for the kids to join in, and encourage audience participation with sing alongs and interactive improv exercises. Their debut album is available at https://www.tradebit.com and at their live shows. So if you have kids, call the Elbows. If you are a kid, whine and beg your parents to book the Elbows. So for your next birthday party, don’t just book some clown. Book these clowns.
