Details:
Lindsey Reightley has always been in love with music. “Music has been like a second language for me. As a child I would sing into the end of a jump rope for hours at a time. I was raised in a very musical family and singing and performing were just a part of what we all did when we got together.”
Lindsey lives in Eugene Oregon and currently attends the University of Oregon. “I began taking voice lessons at age 12 and studied violin seriously from the age of 11 until mid-way through high school when it became clear to me that my passion was vocal music.” At the age of 17, (2004) Lindsey was awarded a scholarship to attend the summer music program at Berklee College of Music in Boston. “The summer I spent at Berklee was transformative for me. I understood at a deep, spiritual level that my gift was to touch the world with music from my heart.” Writing music and recording my songs was what I wanted to do with my life.” When Lindsey was a senior in high school, (2005) she auditioned for the Berklee World Scholarship and was awarded a vocal scholarship to attend Berklee as a full time college student. However Lindsey made the decision to stay in Eugene her first year of college and work with Producer Cedric Weary and produce an album of self-penned music.
The first time Cedric Weary heard Lindsey sing she was 14. Her selection: the spiritual ”His Eye is on the Sparrow.” Weary said his jaw dropped. “She is a natural. I don’t say that about very many people. She’s a natural performer. She thrives on the stage. She just has a stage savvy well beyond her years.”
The last two years have been filled with exciting musical experiences. In 2005 Lindsey performed with her grandfather, Jerry Harrison, a singer songwriter himself, in Nashville at the GMAC conference. His song, “ A Little Bit of Heaven In My Soul”, was chosen as one of five finalists for the gospel GMAC song of the year. “I love performing with my grandfather. We just click musically and singing together creates this amazing connection with each other and our audience.”
Lindsey performs locally at the Club Luna. She inspires others as the lead vocalist at Unity of the Valley church, and as member of the elite U of O gospel singers.
Her self-titled album is being promoted by RCI Music Promotions in Nashville TN. She is breaking into the Urban AC and R& B market. Her single “Sweet Temptations” is getting an excellent response and radio airplay. Lindsey wrote the lyrics to all 16 songs on her album, and the music and lyrics on the song “Rite Here Rite Now”. “I write about real life. As a young girl growing up I was taught to stand strong and believe in myself. The greatest gift my family has given me is to look within to find the truth about who you are.” My song “Strong Sexy and Independent”, and “Real Beauty”, were written to inspire young woman to be proud of who they are as individuals.” Every song on the album reflects Lindsey. She is a passionate, creative, amazing voice with a range and emotional depth beyond her years.
