Listen as Bob Schvenderson interviews Santa right in his own workshop at the North Pole, the elves working away furiously, chipmonk voices abound, "Rudolph" with a surprising middle section with an all American classic thrown in for good measure...& MUCH more !!!
Recorded in Ka''a''awa, Hawaii in 1986 at "Dawg Fur Studios" during the Computones hey-daze in Hawaii ! They were the first in Hawaii to use computers for live musical performances. Truly trendsetters of their day ! Their first album "Midi Madness" & "We Wish You a Midi Christmas" actually got some air play on local Hawaiian stations. While performing in Hawaii they acheived an "almost semi-famous" status & now are cultivating their "almost semi-famous cult following" 20 years later !
Simply amazing.
album liner notes:
Hey everyone ! It’s those wacky, zany COMPUTONES, Ian Taylor & Ross Costa...sounding better than ever since the “lost” tapes were digitally remastered after being found in a cave in Ka’a’awa, Hawaii this past year. An archaeologist stumbled upon the treasure trove while looking for early Hawaiian burial sites. He also found “MIDI MADNESS”, their first album which is currently being remastered in Southern California. In addition, valuable posters & newspaper clippings were found documenting the duo’s legacy...
Enjoy this collection of sendups, comedic bits & downright tomfoolery of some of your favorite Christmas songs as only the COMPUTONES can do it. Even disk jockey Dr. Demento shook his head and said, “Sorry, this stuff is too outside for my show.” The COMPUTONES were heartbroken & crestfallen that he didn’t want to play it....but every year in a few dozen homes thruout the world families gather ‘round to enjoy a holiday tradition, WE WISH YOU A MIDI CHRISTMAS...and now you can too!
