About the CD:
God sent the words and music to Mend These Broken Pieces thirty minutes after praying with a friend whose marriage had become challenging. While praying, the words came, “Lord, their marriage is not broken, it just needs mending.” The song was written:
Where is the love dreams are made of
Can what is lost be found again
Things that You taught me, lost in a minute
Stolen by wind, joy gone again
Lord I am asking, please won’t you listen
Help me to mend these broken pieces
Researching music in the Bible led me to a passage in II Chronicles 5:12. I saw inside the temple with my mind’s eye. The Ark of the Covenant with the “Word of God” was being brought into the temple. One hundred twenty priests, trumpeters and singers were as one.
All they were saying was, “For he is good; for his mercy endureth forever:” I imagined the timing of this song. There were nine words with fourteen syllables. How did it sound? I imagined it as a chant. Music was added to the chant and For He is Good was born.
Rejoice is a song of victory. Once you have accepted Christ into your life, you become part of the Body of Christ. “The law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.” I no longer have a defeated attitude toward life. I can confidently say to those in the Body: rejoice, hallelujah, praise the Lord.
“I don’t have to worry.
The answer is in the Word of God
Truth now abideth in me
“The law of the Spirit, of life in Christ Jesus
Has made me free from the law of sin and death.”
Psalm 107:8 says, “Oh that men would praise the Lord for his goodness, and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” Men, it is time for us to praise the Lord. If you can not find a reason to praise him, thank him for your last breath. Jesus is the Lord I sing about in this song.
Thank you Jesus for helping me to remember it was after the storm when I saw the rainbow. When my bank account was very low; when I was facing a difficult situation, when I didn’t know which way to turn, I remembered, it was after the storm, when I saw the rainbow.
I was attending a meeting once and the speaker said, “We should learn to thank God for the little things in life.” Jesus, You are Worthy to be Praised for the little things like the rising of the sun, a baby smiling, and children playing.
There is Power in the name of the Lord. This song reminds not to be ashamed to stand up and praise the Lord when we have the chance.
Thinking of You is a love song to Jesus. The affirmation at the end of the song is, “My hope is in you, Jesus, and your amazing grace.”
My Prayer for You was written to my son and his friends as they traveled to London, UK. As they continue to travel around the world my prayer is that they will always benefit from the fruit of the spirit and keep Jesus in their lives.
My Pastor called one morning and shared Psalm 16:11 with me, “In thy presence is fullness of joy; at thy right hand there are pleasures forevermore.” He thought I could write a song from this verse. It became clear to me as I wrote this song that there is Joy in the Presence. I find my joy in Jesus.
It is the songwriter’s prayer that you will find joy as you listen to Reflections of the Heart.
