MP3 Fats Kaplin - The Fatman Cometh

Instrumental, Post Modern, Eclectic Folk, primarily Fiddle

12 MP3 Songs
FOLK: Modern Folk, WORLD: World Fusion

Details:
You’ve heard renowned multi-instrumentalist Fats Kaplin,
“…this generation’s Ry Cooder” on hundreds of CDs over the years. There doesn’t seem to be an instrument he does not play. And yet this barely scratches the surface of this Faheyesque musician and composer. This mostly instrumental release features the Fatman primarily on fiddle…but there are ventures into instruments from far flung corners of the globe, like the traditional Turkish balagma. Fats Kaplin is an artist who gives great attention to the inner soul of the great indigenous music of our world, he finds an essence that he can then translate with his own particular American accent. John Fahey, Sandy Bull, Charles Ives, Harry Partch…these are the men he reveres. Artists beyond classification.

This rare limited edition disc is truly a work of art. And reflecting this attention to detail are the graphics, which are done by the legendary Hatch Show Print Company (owned and operated as a working museum by the Country Music Hall of Fame) in Nashville, TN. Each cover is individually printed right at the shop one at a time, these are not litho copies on slick paper. No two are exactly alike. A collector’s item.

As a respected multi-instrumentalist, Fats has recorded and toured with numerous major label and independent artists. In addition, he is continuing to compose and record on his own, and with his wife, Kristi Rose and also in Kane-Welch-Kaplin, his ongoing project with Dead Reckoning brothers, Kevin Welch and Kieran Kane with whom he recently released the highly praised album “Lost John Dean”.

You can find out more about Fats Kaplin and get information on his touring schedule at the Pulp Country website.
