Tom Dalton is a native South Floridian and has lived most of his life in “hurricane country.” He is a singer/songwriter and guitarist and has performed his songs from Florida to California. Tom is also a board certified music therapist and a mental health counselor and has used music to help people of all ages. He lives in Palm Beach County with his wife, daughter, two dogs, two cats and a parrot.

For years Tom has used his songwriting skills to help people through the music therapy process. He has worked with children, adolescents and adults with a variety of needs using the power of music to help transform their lives. Tom has worked with people with developmental disabilities, Autism, Downs Syndrome, Attention Deficit Disorder, Bipolar Disorder, traumatic brain injury, learning disabilities and severe emotional disturbances. He also specializes in helping children and families who have experienced grief and loss in their lives from the death of a loved one.

The songs on “When the Hurricane Comes” were written as a way of helping those who live in areas affected by hurricanes to better prepare before, during and after a hurricane. The songs not only integrate essential information about hurricane facts, history, evacuation zones, shutters and supplies, but also provide emotional comfort and support for families and individuals experiencing hurricanes.
