''souls of sophie'' is influenced by bands: The Chameleons UK, The Cure, OMD, Echo and the Bunnymen, DM, The Verve, Suede....to name a few. Since it''s inception, the band has undergone several line-up changes as well as a few location changes (New Orleans, Chicago, Portland OR, Columbia SC). During this time, a limited edition self-titled debut EP, "dusk" EP, and currently "frozen path" LP has been released.
In spite of a shaky past, the band continues to create sonic landscapes best described as "modern-wave": The mergence of post-punk style with modern sound and energy.
