Malea is no stranger to the stage. A native Oregonian, she has been performing since the age of six years old. Her credits are varied and numerous, performing as a solo artist, actress and trained dancer in theatre, film, television and radio.
Malea ~ not to be mistaken by any other Malea has only one name. That’s right her first name and full legal name is just
MALEA
Like many artist, Malea has worn “other hats” to support her great love of music and dance over the years. One of which is that of a trained professional dance & fitness instructor. It was through this wonderful profession that Malea had the great opportunity to work with such accomplished Artist as Mr. Burt Bacharach and Mr. Ben Vereen.
Both of these gifted artist recognized her talents as a professional trainer but also saw her music potential and encouraged her to move forward with her musical talent and dreams.
Malea went on to act in several Independent Films and was also a featured dancer and actor in the 20th Century Fox Movie “Men Of Honor” staring Robert De Niro and Cuba Gooding, Jr. and the Lifetime Movie “Take My Advice” the Ann & Abby story. She has also directed, produced and hosted over 50 fitness and dance videos and performed in such musicals as “Hello Dolly” and “Makin Whoopie”
to name a few.
Malea loved being on stage and doing film work but realized her greatest passion and ambition was to record a solo album that would tell her story and what she had learned along the way. Hence, her most recent accomplishment is the release of her first album, “If You Really Knew Me” that draws the listener in with smooth, pure, strong and yet playful vocals. There is a deep, breathy, sexy delivery in “Sweet Love” that makes the listener yearn to hear more from this new artist.
