MP3 Neuromance - EP
"lonely and lovely sound"
7 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, POP: New Wave
Details:
If you are like me, you missed some great bands that
stirred your soul at a pivotal time in your life.
Maybe Joy Division in Manchester because you were in
Junior High in Long Island or Ann Arbor?
Blondie at CBGB''s --Chrissie Hynde around the same
time...maybe?
The last night of July 2006, at the Viper Room in Los
Angeles just might have made up for great and lost
exclusive moments with soon-to-be musical heroes.
Neuromance played 7 songs or so. They played them with
beautiful execution and savvy.
Lead singer Cynthia Mittweg conjured up a séance of
seductive voices. You might say the sound of her
voice reminds you of Dale Bozzio or Shirley
Manson...but it''s not. It''s Cynthia’s and hers alone.
Add some sharp, wicked riffs and the perfect tumbling
of percussion enveloping the slide into despair, then
a resurgence through her haunting and ethereal
voice...well then you’ve covered the best of the brand
new in the last 25 years of fierce and original rock
and roll.
The key to all the comparisons is that someone takes
the stage and makes it their own. The band at the
Viper Room last night rocked with their own signature
sound. They soared past mimic and tribute and made
their distintictively lonely and lovely sound.
If the rest of the world doesn''t catch on, it could be
just the frivolous and fickle nature of radio or
general (dull and blind) consumption of the masses.
For now, I just caught a glimpse of The Bowery in NYC
or Manchester at a time when it was a world away.
Last night I saw it with my own eyes.

p.s. to the band--all the best luck in the
world---always, Dannis
