VeinCage rears its ugly head again…and unloads on you. VeinCage began as the solo project of Peter DiNardi in 1988 (then front man/guitarist for speed/grind core outfit Bonetree) Hardcore-influenced guitar style and syncopated electro/industrial rhythms became the hallmark sound of VeinCage. VeinCage was quickly ranked among the pioneering wave of US industrial/hardcore bands during the late 80’s and early 90’s. They gained a dedicated American following with high-intensity live shows and independent demo-releases, plus popular college radio singles such as “Ego-Testicle”. Their popularity grew with the international release of the acclaimed and influential 1993 album Feral Din, via electronic label Axis Records (USA/GERMANY). DiNardi’s earliest works are name-checked alongside the likes of Ministry, KMFDM and Nine Inch Nails, as major influences on countless electronic and industrial artists from around the globe.
Mark Stoneface has been crafting heavy original guitar-driven music for over a decade. Including writing and recording his first full album “Storm and Sorrow” and two singles “The Resurrection” and “Death comes on Black Wings” (with bass player and ex-band mate Freddie Sturm from Thug). He has also recorded guest guitar spots with Out Out (Mark Alan Miller) and Circus of Dead Squirrels 8-bit piece of shit remix from the album “Indoor Recess”. His animated stage presence and grinding riffage brings a level of intensity unrivaled to the stage. His sound has been described as “Rip your face off” and his performance as “pulling negative g’s”. Stoneface has played with members of Mr. Softee, Plastic-x, Bonetree, East Coast Psychos, Out Out, Behemoth and was selected to play bass for the 911 European Tour. He also is a music producer and is the president of Last Face Productions.
Moving from the hills of Western MA to the steely constructs of New York City, Peter “Petey” DiNardi recorded and produced several underground dance and hip-hop records in his Brooklyn studio, Syphogenek. Additionally, Petey was ripping it up as “DJ Medicine Man” doing gigs throughout New York and New England, all the while producing original scores, sound-effects and multimedia soundtracks for such clients as Pepsi and the indie Sci-Fi feature “The Next Big Thing.” Petey took leave of NYC to involve himself in the vibrant underground community of Wellington City, New Zealand. His time there was filled with insane collaborations with various artists from the Mediatrix collective, including The Mercy Cage, N.U.T.E. and Disjecta Membra.
Combining forces to bring you VeinCage, “No good deed goes unpunished”. Stoneface brings a truck load of rock/metal experience to the industrial/hardcore sound that is the Dinardi moniker, and, like some Frankenstein’s monster, they take you on a dark ride through the underbelly of human emotion and experience. With a ferocious sonic assault, hook laden songs and and a live show that has been described as “just plain scary”, VeinCage is “The Band to Watch out for this year”.
