Details:
Persian piano prodigy Vali Raoufi was born in Tehran, the capital of Iran, and grew up there with his two sisters in a loving and respectful family environment. His parents were both teachers, and his father, Jamshid Raoufi, inspired young Vali to learn piano at an early age.
At 16, Vali left Iran for Austria, where he lived and studied languages in Vienna for two years before coming to the United States in late 1984. After settling in Chatsworth, California, he started to build his new life, pursuing his business interests while continuing his education. At one point, the young immigrant was holding down three jobs as well as taking college classes!
A firm believer in the value of a good education, Vali moved to Miami, Florida, in 1995 and attended the University of the Atlantic, College of Business Administration, where he received his Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration and Marketing. He is currently working on his Master’s. While in Florida, he kept his hand in the music world by successfully promoting the debut concerts of Persian-American singing star Shahriar Rami (Shahryar).
When Vali returned to California to follow his dreams, he combined his instincts for marketing and music by founding Rhythm Touch Records, a multi-cultural World Music label. Utilizing his education and entrepreneurial spirit, he was able to achieve his goals, believing that all things are possible. He released his debut CD, “Destiny Is In Your Hands,” a wonderful collection of popular instrumental themes, in the summer of 2005, and followed it in the fall with an album of original soundscapes called “The Art of Relaxation,” in which his ethereal compositions pay tribute to the healing arts.
Over the years, Vali has continued to hone his craft, becoming a messenger of music while building his business reputation. His wife, Shiva, whom he married in 2000, is very active in the creative aspects of the albums’ artwork and design. As for his daughter and two sons, Vali declares, “My children are my greatest legacy. They are the reason I exist.”
Vali Raoufi is now emerging as a renaissance man. His richly textured melodies weave a musical tapestry whose threads transcend all cultural boundaries. His magical playing evokes heart-felt passion, using music as the universal language of love. He is a charismatic performer whose personal radiance lifts the spirits of his fans and listeners, revealing him as a true ambassador of compassion.
Vali sees himself as a vessel that has been chosen to offer and translate songs reflecting a world defined by heart and spirit. He seeks to inspire and transform the world into a more giving and forgiving place, promoting mutual respect among all cultures and backgrounds. His warm-hearted compassion for humanity is sincere and philanthropic in nature.
“I want to feel that I contributed something positive to the world,” says the Rhythm Touch Records composer, producer and pianist. “My music and my thoughts are my gift back to society. Having a gift is one thing; sharing it so that others can benefit is another,” he believes. “Where there is a will, there is a way!”
Vali Raoufi feels honored to contribute to society through the humanitarian programs he has long supported. Over the past decade, he has been affiliated with many noble non-profit organizations, including the Blind Children’s Center and the USO. He has also supported the Center Against Abusive Behavior and the World Children’s Transplant Fund. Vali is donating a portion of the profits of “Destiny Is In Your Hands” to specific programs that will inspire and support people who truly need help. In addition to the Blind Children’s Center, these include USO Operation Phone Home, a campaign designed to provide prepaid international calling cards to as many of our service men and women overseas as possible, so they may call their loved ones at home.
On his “Destiny” album, the songs Vali selected to convey his passions pay tribute to such internationally-known composers as Nino Rota, Lennon & McCartney, Sade, Chris De Burgh, and George Michael, among others. Vali hopes this initial collection will redefine and expand the boundaries of yesterday''s hits for today’s listener, shining new light on classic and familiar songs, including “Strangers in the Night,” “Love Story,” “Yesterday,” “Smooth Operator” and “Careless Whisper,” for his devoted and ever expanding fan base, as well as the wider retail audience that is just now being exposed to his multi-cultural gifts.
The keyboard virtuoso also expresses his appreciation for the creative contributions of Sun Valley, California, music maker and studio owner Roma Kanyan, who helped guide him through the initial journey in the studio arena. “I love Roma’s creative talent,” Vali enthuses. “He’s a great complement to my projects.”
Fans, friends and music industry veterans welcome Vali’s arrival. He brings a positive and inspiring media story, a new audio and visual portrayal of the artists that are just now emerging from the Persian artistic community.
As he develops and nurtures his vision for Beverly Hills-based Rhythm Touch Records, label owner Vali has dedicated himself to honoring his parents and is constantly guided by the memory of his father, Jamshid Raoufi. “The older I get, the more I realize what an important influence he was in my life. My father and my mother inspired me to play piano and to love life.”
Since his label’s inception, Vali has gathered many talented artists to create a platform for diverse and illuminating new projects. Understanding the world’s need for more positive and empowering messages in music and the world of entertainment, Rhythm Touch Records is blazing a visionary trail and fast becoming a powerful force creating a new trend in the music industry.
The ambience of California and the West Coast has obviously influenced Vali’s music and recording, from the studio to the mastering room, but his motivation comes from other sources too. “I feel the energy of the U.S.A.,” Vali explains. “I always take my inspiration from God. I think all men and women who have come here from other countries are very fortunate to be living in America. I love this country and appreciate all the wonderful opportunities it offers me.”
Vali Raoufi has taken his vision of peace in the world and used it to create soothing and uplifting music, destined to become a beacon of hope to light the way into the 21st century.
