A very impressive debut release from this powerhouse fusion trio who hail from Melbourne, Australia. EQ is guitarist, Chris Bieniek; bassist Kit Riley; Chris Broomhead, drums & percussion and Danny Healy, tenor saxophone (2 tracks).
The band is heavily influenced by the sounds of Wayne Krantz, Allan Holdsworth, Robben Ford, Tribal Tech, Chick Corea and Weather Report.
EQ have been playing together for close to 10 years, culminating in the long-awaited release of their self-titled debut album on the Australian jazz-fusion label Vorticity in 2008.
EQ''s music has been shaped and influenced by such luminaries as Wayne Krantz, Allan Holdsworth, Chick Corea, Tribal Tech, Robben Ford, Weather Report, The Yellowjackets and John Mayer, amongst others, and seeks to meld the music of these artists together into their own organic style.
