Matt Allen is a versatile, talented and soulful performer who has been honing his music skills since the age of 10. Musical influences ranging from Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Donny Hathaway, Justin Timberlake, Daniel Merriweather and D’angelo have helped shape Matt into the singer and songwriter he is today. His style can be described as new, edgy pop with the emphasis on the vocal delivery and sophisticated arrangements. Now a Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts (WAAPA) graduate, Matt was recently awarded the prize for the “Most Outstanding Contemporary Music Student” at WAAPA and has recently completed recording an album of original material entitled "Over".
