Since January 2009, Tulsa-based Vintage Wildflowers has developed an enthusiastic legion of fans with their vibrant blend of Celtic harp, Irish flute, fiddle and harmony vocals. Mix in bits of mandolin, whistle, guitar, banjo, and bodhran and you have an idea of what it’s like to spend an evening with these women. Equally at home performing on a huge festival stage, in a formal concert hall, or in someone’s living room, their concerts reflect both their respect for traditional music and their desire to create a style completely their own. The music of Vintage Wildflowers is a reflection of the musical lives and backgrounds of these three women, melding the trio''s wide-ranging musical interests with their Celtic music obsession.

In their first few months together, Vintage Wildflowers opened the 2009 Summerstage Festival with a sold out performance at the Tulsa Performing Arts Center, headlined the Midwest Harp Festival, and debuted at the North Texas Irish Festival. Their February 2010 performance at the University of Tulsa featured a standing room only crowd overflowing the concert hall into the lobby and hallways of the building. Other recent appearances have included performances at Americana Unplugged, the American Heritage Music Festival, OKMozart International Music Festival, the Oklahoma Celtic Festival, the Claremore Bluegrass and Chili Festival and Global Oklahoma 2010. The trio’s acclaimed debut CD “The Upstairs Sessions” has been featured on Public Radio Tulsa''s Folk Salad and NPR’s Folk Sampler. The trio''s busy schedule for 2011 has already seen return engagements at both the University of Tulsa and the North Texas Irish Festival, as well as a Saint Patrick''s Day concert sponsored by the Arts and Humanities Council of Tulsa. Their second CD, “Lovely Madness” (released in March 2011) is a declaration of their evolving vision with adventurous choices in repertoire and a distinctive artistic voice. June 2011 will bring the trio’s music to a wider audience as they embark on their first tour, highlighted by a performance in Washington, DC as part of the Kennedy Center’s Millenium Stage Concert Series.
