His musicianship has been compared to guitar greats Wes Montgomery, Eric Clapton, George Benson and Santana!
On his newest project, simply called JIOSA – On the Edge, Denny has ventured into his first ‘band’ project, an aggressive instrumental rock CD featuring bassist Jon von Boehm and drummer John Toomey, both of Nashville. This project is indeed a long awaited musical venture for Denny. It is not a jazz record—it just plain rocks!
Jon von Böehm grew up in Erie,PA. He studied with bass guitar great, Jeff Berlin (Bill Buford, John Abercrombie, Dennis Chambers). John stays busy in the studio as an in demand versatile bassist playing for artists, television commercials and sound tracks. He has had the honor of playing on the award-wining PBS documentary "Safe Harbor".
John Toomey is a teaching, recording and performing drummer. He spent three years studying classical and jazz performance at the famed Loyola University before moving to Nashville where he received his BA in Music Performance and Music Business from Belmont University. He has performed with various artists including former American Idol contestant Josh Gracin, Warner Bros. recording artist Jason Jones and Curb recording artists Bomshel.
With the extensive musical backgrounds of these three outstanding musicians, JIOSA sets a new standard in progressive rock!
