Back to her gospel roots, Joy’s new CD release entitled Restored Again features inspirational gospel songs such as "Restored The Joy" featuring renowned pianist Reggie Graham, "Only You Know" featuring her brother Joseph Jordan. In addition, the CD includes other great songs such as "Giving My All", "The Blood", and also features Joy’s Godmother (Ellen Christian) who is still going strong and renders a classic version of “All The Way With Jesus”. Joy says that her Godmother’s essence of inspiration keeps her grounded.
In 2006, Joy released her first gospel CD entitled Lift Him Up which displayed her gospel background and her roots from home. Produced by Ron Moton of Moton Productions, the CD is "uplifting and powerful", including songs of worship and praise, with a sultry urban gospel sound.
“Joy is a gifted singer who is embraced by the public and critics alike”. In 2005, Joy was nominated for a "Sounds of Soul" Music Award. Joy has received three "Sounds of Soul" Music Award nominations. Joy has been recognized for singing other styles of music. Also, In 2002 and 2001, Joy was nominated and honored at the “Sounds of Soul” Music Awards for Female R&B Performer of the Year and for Best R&B Performance by a Group/Band. Joy gained recognition while performing at various showcases, which immediately earned her the title of “One of the Top Ten Female Vocalist in Sacramento”. Joy’s favorite music style is Gospel & Jazz. Her early influences were Shirley Caesar, Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan.
