Second album Moments of Brilliance also available, ten original tracks (1998) and a Third album, The Roller Coaster Blues Band, (Ten Tracks, available in 2011). With a career spanning over 15 years and three albums, Julia Starr has more albums and regular gigs in her hometown, Toukley, Australia. Check out juliastarrmusic on facebook for updates.

Julia began her performing career in Bridgetown, Western Australia, where she first appeared on stage in a musical. A writer of songs, she was then invited to perform at the Bridgetown Hotel with the newly formed local music club. Her application to get approval for the town''s first music festival was accepted by council, and Julia worked hard alongside other locals to raise money for the first festival which has now become The Bridgetown Blues Festival and continues to grow annually.

But during the recession of 1989 she had to leave town with the collapse of a family business and relocated to Darwin with her partner to start over. Julia was soon a regular performer at Palmerston Country Music club and worked as Secretary of the Palmerston Arts Council, helping to organise large music festivals including Battle of the Bands at Marlow Lagoon and Symphony Under the Stars.

During this important time in Darwin Julia Starr honed her music skills, entered many song writing competitions and in doing so won many state awards. With a little help from the NT Arts Council and QE II Trust, Julia Starr was soon off to Tamworth to perform amongst the best artists in Australia.

Many great artists have performed alongside Julia Starr and on the same show - program, including Beccy Cole, Brian Young, Gina Jeffries and Kasey Chambers (to name a few).

Julia Starr will soon release her third album in 2008, a blues album, before she heads back in the studio to record more great country songs. Join her mailing list for more details.
