MP3 Kelly Driscoll - Who's That Girl?
My music is pop-rock. I focus on meaningful lyrics that anyone can relate to, despite his or her age. My songs are written about different people and events from my life, and are mixed with a great sound that resembles Sara Bareilles’s relaxed musicality or Natasha Bedingfield’s fun sound and lyrics.

Hey everyone! First, I want to start off by saying thanks so much for showing your interest in my music. I’m supposed to tell you everything about me and whatnot, so here I go.
Okay, well I grew up performing, as odd as that may sound. My parents are very interested in music and the arts, so at a very young age, they introduced me to dancing, modeling, acting, and of course, music. I started going to ballet and tap classes when I was three years old, although as time progressed, I started new forms of dance. These include jazz, modern, pointe, latin ballroom, latin jazz, rhythm tap, hip hop, and lyrical. I was accepted into a local company, where I earned elite silver, gold, and platinum awards for large group and solo performances. At the age of four, I started modeling professionally with Wilhelmina Models in NYC, and then with Product Management. I had a lot of fun and appeared in over one hundred print ads and store posters. I started acting at age five. I signed with top agents and managers and started booking jobs. I enjoyed working with numerous celebrities and appeared in commercials, films, soap operas and TV shows. I also performed in many musical theater productions. Even though I took a break from the acting business in high school to focus on my schoolwork, I continued studying with top acting coaches and during the summers, I went to theatre camp at UCLA in Ca.
I got my start in singing in my Dad’s car singing Beatles and James Taylor songs. I grew up around rock and roll. My parents owned a bar called Kelly’s Pub where I met a lot of well known and talented musicians such as Dickey Betts, Marshall Tucker Band, Dr. John, Levon Helm, Buzzy Lindhardt, Buddy Cage, Johnny Markowski, etc. Buzzy told me and my friends that he wrote “You Gotta Have Friends” from the movie, “Shrek.” We loved that song and movie. One of the things I remember most was having the chance to say a few words to the crowd before Dickey Betts went on. I was 9 years old. So I went up to the mike and welcomed everyone. Then I walked over to the keyboard player who I never met before, and handed him sheet music for the Star Spangled Banner. I sang my heart out and made everyone cry. Then I introduced Dickey Betts. We made many friends at the bar, so you can see why I say I grew up around rock and roll. I have been working hard with my new band, and had our first gig at Olivers in Orangeberg, NY. I was honored to have Johnny Markowski, drummer for New Riders of the Purple Sage host my band’s debut. I was touched by how many people came to see me and my new band!
I started writing songs when I was thirteen years old, and last year, I finally shared my work with the world. Although it’s just the beginning, the creation of my new CD has been my biggest accomplishment as an artist so far. I had the pleasure of working with two great producers, multi-platinum record producer Matt Noble and Grammy nominated producer, Jim Salamone who helped make my dream a reality. I’ve written more songs and will be recording again soon with producer and co-writer, Matt Noble whose credits also include Rihanna, Rod Stewart and Shontelle.
My music is considered pop-rock, yet it has a freer and lighter sound than what is heard all over the radio today. There’s so many great young artists that are creating a buzz all over the country, but I think that my music is different because I focus on meaningful lyrics that anyone can relate to, despite his or her age. My songs are written about different people and events from my life, and are mixed with a great sound that resembles Sara Bareilles’s relaxed musicality or Natasha Bedingfield’s fun sound and lyrics. As a songwriter and recording artist, I have been influenced by many musicians including the Beatles, Pink, Sara Bareilles, Norah Jones, and Kate Voegele. I’ve taken what I admire from these artists, and created my own music.
Since I started this project, I have received nothing but great feedback, and I’m very thankful to everyone who supported me and inspired me, but most of all, I’d like to thank my parents, my family, and my close friends for their love and support.
