The Ted Vaughn Blues Band consists of five professional musicians with decades of recording and performing experience among them. Individually, the members have shared the stage with some of the top artists in music and have performed at many of the top venues and festivals around the country. The band electrified blues lovers at the "Thunder in the Garden" Motorcycle Show at the Oregon Garden, as well as the Grand Re-Opening of The Iron Horse Casino in Auburn, WA and the final day of "The Good Vibrations Motorcycle Rally" at the Riverfront Amphitheatre in Salem, Oregon. They also headlined the 28th annual Oregon Wine and Brewfest at the Oregon State Fairgrounds. The band performed to a standing room only crowd for The Cascade Blues Association at The Melody Ballroom in Portland, OR and is participating in the prestigious 2011 "Journey to Memphis". The Ted Vaughn Blues Band has just released their long anticipated self titled CD "The Ted Vaughn Blues Band" , utilizing the production team of Leon-Forrest and Paul Carlsen (Nirvana, Greg Allman, The Doors) on Harbinger Northwest Records.
Ted Vaughn – Vocals and Blues Harp: Ted was born and raised in Texas and was heavily influenced by the blues sounds of "Lightnin'' Hopkins" and "Howlin'' Wolf" as well as country artists such as Waylon Jennings. Ted formed a friendship with the late Texas bluesman Willie Willis and studied technique on the blues harp from such notable players as Charlie Musselwhite, Sam Meyer (Anson Funderburg and the Rockets) and James Harman.
Ted''s previous CD, "Born to the Blues" was released in 2008 on Harbinger Northwest Records and continues to receive airplay in Europe and the United States.
Clay "Bone" King – Guitar and Vocals: Clay was raised in Southern California where he found a love for the guitar and studied jazz with Charlie Parker''s sax player, Warne Marsh as well as jazz virtuoso Joe Pass and Jimmy Wyble (Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys). He has shared stages with many of the world''s finest musicians including Doug MacLeod and Corey Stevens. His musical influences include Albert King, Lightnin'' Hopkins and Stevie Ray Vaughan. He continues to be one of the most in demand guitarists on the West coast and his performances with "The Ted Vaughn Blues Band" leave audiences spellbound.
Leon-Forrest – Keyboards and Vocals: Leon formed his first band, "The Apollos" in the early 1960''s. "The Apollos" backed up national acts and rubbed shoulders with performers such as "The Yardbirds" and Janis Joplin. The band often shared venues with "The Golliwogs" who later became "Creedence Clearwater Revival". He later formed the band "Firewind" which caught the attention of Gabriel Mekler, producer of "Three Dog Night" and "Steppenwolf". Today, Leon makes music from Seattle to Nashville and also wears the hat of producer, engineer, studio musician and top dog at Harbinger Northwest Records.
Ted Larson – Bass and Vocals: Ted continues to be one of the most visable and experienced bass players on the West Coast. His major claim to fame comes from way back down in Northern California when he opened for a band called "The New Breed", that featured a young Timothy B. Schmidt, a founding member of The Eagles.
Ian Henderson – Drums: Ian, the band''s youngest member rounds out the rhythm section. Although proficient in many instruments, the drums best express his love for the blues and he brings a youthful energy to every performance.
