This musical journey began at age thirteen, when I began singing around the house the songs that I heard on the radio. I tried to sing exactly as I heard the artist on the radio sing; however, I realized that was not my particular sound. So I began to just be myself and let go and that’s how I found my voice. I began to write R&B songs and sing in different groups or venues. I always loved music but never realized how much until now.
Growing up in the city of Detroit, there was a lot of temptations, some I fell right in the middle of. I began to run the streets of Detroit and hang around a different crowd that did different things. But, I had a praying Mother and Grandmother that would not give up on me. Every Sunday, my mother made me go to church. It was not up for debate. After attending for some time, I began to really listen to what was being taught. It started to penetrate my spirit and convict me of my wrong. I asked God to come into my life and He did; in a big way. Now instead of me imitating other artists, God gave me a voice and sound of my own. A sound that would glorify his name and give him praise! As I began to write more, God gave me more. This was the re-birth of me –Trio. Now I sing, write and rap about the goodness of Jesus Christ and how he saved a wretch like me. I am not ashamed to tell anyone, that God saved me from the trap house to glorify HIS HOUSE. I am not ashamed of the Gospel of Jesus Christ!!
