After the success of Funeral At Sea, Fowler took some time off from creating music to focus on other creative projects. However, in the spring 2010, he released an EP "Earth Below Us" which contained five new songs. He described this period as a "transitional phase" in his life, and talked about how a lot of normalities were changing for him. During this time, Fowler moved from his home in Los Angeles to the San Francisco Bay Area to further his graduate studies in Multimedia. While settling in, he recorded the band''s follow up to Funeral At Sea, which would be the third Cinema Skeleton album, "Logical Equals". The record follows a thematic structure built around space exploration. Production began in the fall of 2010, and ran until the early months of 2011. The album also continues the tradition established with his first two records, by starting with a reprise of the last song from the previous album. Fowler has stated that Logical Equals is his most "cerebral record, that should be listened to from beginning to end." The first single from the album "Coil Like The Snake" was released on February 1, 2011.
