WHAT THE PRESS IS SAYING:

"Terrific, world class lyrics...a fine listen for fans of great storytelling."
Chris Holly, Arizona Tribune

Jim Pipkin performing in a rare solo acoustic CD under his old stage name "Arizona''s Trooper". Jim''s highly original material blends blistering flat-picking with clear-eyed experience into an Americana sound best described as "Sour Mash for the Soul." The wide range of humor, history, and drama in these songs is enhanced by rich vocals and a guitar that rumbles, roars, and breathes with a life of its own.

Jim carries on a family tradition of music and storytelling dating back to before the American Revolution. Jim is a direct descendent of DAR-listed Revolutionary War Patriot Jesse Pipkin, and the grandson of Clifton White Pipkin, a Carolina roadhouse musician during the Great Depression.

A cousin, Daniel "Red" Pipkin, was an Arizona outlaw, serving seven years in the Yuma Territorial Prison for train robbery 1900-1907. Wish we knew where he hid the money!

Jim Pipkin is a member of the Arizona Historical Society, the Americana Music Association, and a Roster Artist for the Arizona Commission on the Arts.
