Elvis Presley was the first to recorded this Rockabilly arrangement of I Shall Not Be Moved at The Sun Studio in December 1956 with Carl Perkins Johnny Cash and Jerry Lee Lewis it was a very raw production and never meant for release, until in 1981 Sam Phillips discovered the lost tapes and they were released under the title The Million Dollar Quartet.
On this track Bill Martin has tried to remain faithful to the original arrangement but with a much higher studio production quality he has still been able to capture some of the rawness of the original Sun track this track is a must for all Rockabilly https://www.tradebit.com song has no known composer and was written in the 18Th century during the slave trade it was to play a major
part in the union struggles in the great depression of the 1930s and also in the civil rights movement of the 1960s becoming the anthem of the oppressed Bill Martin has tried to keep as much of the Rockabilly Sound as possible while also trying to bring out the inspirational aspect of the song.
