Details:
Don''t Fear The Sun is a four-piece piano pop-rock band from Findlay, Ohio. The group is comprised of Timothy Moon (piano/vocals), Eric Nelson Wheatley (bass/keys/vocals), Isaac Smith (guitar), and Sam Skelding (drums). The band, as a whole, has been playing two years across the Mid Central and Eastern regions of America, winning over the hearts of everyone they come into contact with. Don''t Fear The Sun is a group of guys filled with passion, joy, dedication and a complete love for music, and the people they meet through it.
Don''t Fear The Sun was started by Timothy and Nelson in the late Summer of 2008. It began, at first, as a basement project started by the two friends who met during their stay at The University Findlay, as a means of musical escape and enjoyment. Later, after the two realized they were embarking on an experience that was quickly becoming something larger than anything they had ever imagined; they decided in 2009 to take their project from something hiding in the dark recesses of Timothy''s basement, to an experience brought out into the sun to share with the world. That''s when Don''t Fear The Sun was official born.
The two piece began their search for a drummer and landed on a friend of Nelson''s, which he had met from other musical endeavors, named Evan Iles. From there, the band began practicing daily and booking local shows to gain a fan base. Since the start of Don''t Fear The Sun in 2008, the band has transitioned through four different drummers. In 2009, they picked up Jacob Bremer, who played with them off and on into the later Summer of 2010. During that year they also had joined forces with Stephen Hinojosa, a drummer from Toledo, Ohio, who played with the band up through the recording of their most recent project titled: "Cue The Horizon." Some time after the project, Stephen decided his life was leading him else where and the band sought-out to fill their vacancy.
In the Fall of 2010, Sam Skelding, another Toledo resident, responded to an add that Timothy and Nelson had placed online. Soon after, Sam was accepted into the fold. During their search for a drummer, the two also decided it was time to fill a much needed gap in their sound and solicit the help of Nelson''s friend, Isaac Smith, to join the band on guitar.
Since the addition of the two newest members, the band has been working diligently on being a cohesive unit and continuing to reach out to audiences across the Mid Central and Eastern States. The members of Don''t Fear The Sun have played many venues and college shows throughout the region, and have shared the stage with the likes of: Just Surrender, The Dangerous Summer, The Letter Black, Owl City, This Beautiful Republic, Red, MindFish, June, Taking Back Sunday, Story Changes, Broadway and Goot to name a few. Through their short years, the band has faced many triumphs and adversities that ha
