What do you get when you combine a hip hop pioneer with a folky punky veteran rocker and two classically trained multi-instrumentalists? You get a musical experience that transcends music. The POF''s second full length album, "The Long Slow Distance," was just released in April 2011. Their first album, "Battle Hymns Vol. 1," continues to touch hearts. Both albums were recorded at Shack Studio in Sussex, N.J. by legendary producer/engineer Dwayne "D2" Sumal. D2 has worked with the likes of Kid Rock, Ron Wood, Busta Rhymes, Naughty By Nature, and Ziggy Marley just to name a few.
The Pacifists of Fury consist of four passionate people who were drawn together from diverse musical backgrounds to create a sound like no other. Both albums combine traditional instruments such as stand-up bass, violin, trumpet, pennywhistle, tuba, flute, and guitars against a backdrop of sampled beats and driving percussion. Their songs will move you. They''ll make you laugh and cry and think and wonder why. This unlikely combination of musicians and instruments has created something that''s far greater than the sum of their parts.
For The POF, music is just one part of the equation. The other part of the equation is using their music to do as much good as possible. The P.O.F''s live shows are ongoing food drives that are gaining strength steadily. In addition, The P.O.F. donate 10% of their pay to local food banks. They happily perform at a steady stream of benefits and are regulars at most events held by SCARC, a Sussex County, New Jersey association that provides support for adults with developmental disabilities. They also perform at clubs and theaters throughout the Tri-State area. So get with the plan and grab a can and come see what the buzz is all about! And remember The P.O.F.''s mantra...FOOD - FEED - FED! You can''t argue with that.
