Pheonix is a solo male rapper from Harlem, NY. He grew up Harlem and finished highschool in Albany, NY. He started writing music at a very young age and went by the name "Mells". It was only until he moved to Albany that he recieved the name "Ra Dollas". He was a very popular kid in school and he would sell candy in the school to make extra money. One day he went to give someone some change from a purchase of a snickers bar, and the girl said " you always have dollars in your pocket, they should call you Ra Dollas ". He took that and ran with it. Through his highschool years in Albany his relationship with his dad was poor so he finished highschool staying with his friends in the streets of Albany. He started to use his lyrical talent in rap battles becoming one of the best in the capital district. Finishing highschool and attending college he never really felt comfotable with anything unless it was music. " Ra Dollas " was still pursuing his music career releasing some industry freestyles and reaching out to labels until he got some news about his daughter. When he found out that he was going to be a father he decided to chnge his artist name once again to "Pheonix" which is his daughters name. His reason for changing it is he feels that his daughter will be everything he is. Pheonix has a very unique sound and image that can relate to all genre''s of music.
