Afferent Cue is quickly making their presence known as emerging singer/songwriters. Hitting topics ranging from self-discovery, challenges and joys – to homophobia, irony and the darker side of human nature, it is no surprise that Afferent Cue enjoys a wide reaching fan base.
"DRINKING WITH HEMINGWAY", the new EP from Afferent Cue debuted on "Rock On Radio" and was officially released digitally on 4-11-11.
Recorded at MorningStar Studios in Phila., the EP was Produced and Engineered by Multi-Grammy Winning Glenn Barratt (Elton John) and features appearances by some of Philadelphia’s Best Artists including Ben Arnold, Jef Lee Johnson (Justin Timberlake & Erykah Badu), Erik Johnson (Huffamoose) & Mike “Slo-Mo” Brenner. The release includes "Go Down Slow", "Wish You Well" and "It''s Alright" as well as the AC signature song "Louisiana".
THE BEGINNING: After a performance at Philadelphia’s “M Room”, Philadelphia CityPaper''s ICEPACK columnist A.D. Amorosi affectionately dubbed BMI Performing Artists/Songwriters Afferent Cue "Philadelphia''s Rough Alterna-Folkies", and it stuck.
Things grew from there for the trio based in Philadelphia. In 2009, "Louisiana (Maiden, Mother and Crone)", was recognized as one of the "Top 5 New Songs of The Year" by XFS and they were asked to perform it live on the "X-FEST 2009" stage. On the heels of that honor, Afferent Cue was also invited to play the "Philly Song Shuffle" at the World Cafe Live in Philadelphia as part of the internationally acclaimed Philly Fringe Festival.
Mentions about their live performance can be found in several media outlets. https://www.tradebit.com recently described an Afferent Cue live performance as a "show not to be missed" and they have received numerous mentions as a "top pick" on NBC TV''s "10 Around Town". No surprise, as it is in live performance that Afferent Cue truly shines - interacting with audience members as well as with each other, ensuring a great evening of music, fun and reflection.
They love what they do, have a great time doing it and it shows.
"...going to see "Afferent Cue" is like an adventure into the world of voyeurism - at times hilarious, at other times poignant and moving - you can''t help but be drawn in..."
