Altovise hails from Bronx, NY and started out at the tender age of 6, studying dance with the "Dance Theater of Harlem." She then went on to appear in a number of television commercials then on to acting, appearing on such shows as the "Cosby Show,” and “Half & Half.”
At 10, Altovise discovered her voice, singing every chance she got when no one was neither looking nor listening; she knew she had something special. She wrote her first song at 15, entitled "Why Do I Cry." It was only until a school talent show, at 17, that she revealed her gift, singing a Dolly Pardon classic, "I Will Always Love You," made famous by Whitney Houston. Having received a standing ovation from her peers and elders, Altovise knew that singing professionally was her calling.
Through the years, Altovise has performed on Television; The Apollo and VHI Divas and at venues across New York and Philadelphia, Washington, D.C., and California. Most recently, Altovise was invited to sing for World Aid’s Day at Paramount Studios in Hollywood.
Altovise has gone on to become a member of ASCAP, starting her own publishing company, "Soldier Girl Publishing, Inc. /ASCAP," and has written for other up and coming artists.
She has constantly peaked industry interest, landing a demo deal with Dreamworks records, and securing callbacks for the lead roles in the hit Broadway shows, "RENT,"AIDA, THE COLOR PURPLE AND WICKED." Most recently she performed the National Anthem for the Washington Wizards and Knicks for over10,000 people.
She has explosive charisma, and an inviting presence that hypnotizes the moment she steps on stage. Not only is she a gifted talent, but her striking, exotic beauty is incomparable, inside and out. Never has one experienced such a treat until they hear Altovise.
