I miss Christmas Eve Mass: the hundreds of tiny white lights, the huge tree in the corner of the church, the little kids in the same pageant costumes I wore when I was their age. I miss singing Silent Night and lighting candles and then singing " A Fairy Tale of New York" in the car on the way home at the top of my lungs to make my mom laugh.
I recorded this album out of reverence for the beauty of these songs; they have been sung for centuries and transport me to a place of magic and meaning. Years away from the church and thousands of miles running down trails and floating down rivers have turned me into a believer that God is in all things. She can be in this music about Jesus, just like she is in the trees and the snow and the sun...
