BIOGRAPHY
Born in Lebanon on the streets of Beirut, LYE, along with his family faced the many challenges of living through the Civil War. With resilience running through his blood, LYE knew he would never let him or his family become victims of the struggle. Seeking refuge in the land of the free, Canada became a new home for LYE and his family as they re-established their lives in Windsor, Ontario. For some it may have seemed to be a step down in life with obstacles and mediocrity, but to LYE and his family it was an opportunity to have a safe and prosperous future.
By the age of 15, LYE had already earned mad street credibility in the local rap game. He was known for tearing up the mic and murderin’ cats with his quick-witted punch lines and eradicating flow.
Under the influence of east coast hip hop and rappers like Big Pun, Big L, 2Pac and Notorious B.I.G., LYE was known as one of the most vicious emcees around.
At the age of 18, LYE was hit with a severe life threatening heart condition that brought his hip hop career to a standstill. It was at this point in his life that he came to realize the true meaning of life and how fast it could be taken away from you after being shocked back to life on a hospital bed.
In 2008, another tragic and life changing event came into play. One night, LYE experienced having one of his closest friends gunned down on the grimy streets of the city. Taken back by the untimely death of his good friend (R.I.P. Esco) Lye felt like his world was crumbling , feeling lost and confused as to what this world has to offer LYE’s focus quickly faded away from the music.
As time passed, slowly recovering from the tragic event, with nothing positive in sight. Lye knew the only thing he had left other then his family was his music.
He could not let it go and finally accepted his destiny.
Today, LYE is consistently working on music. With the studio being his second home and his music constantly progressing you can count on seeing him around for years to come. Lye has opened up for acts such as Royce da 5’9 and has collaborated with rap legends on tracks with the likes of EDI MEAN & HUSSEIN FATAL (The Outlawz).
