IAG “IT’S ALL GOOD”

The name of our group is IAG which means “it’s all good”. It’s all good in the sense that no matter the case, we can face it, for life is nothing when you don’t find it hard getting to where you want to be, which the way to make history an interest is. We were fortunate to flee the Liberian civil war and lived most of our childhood days in la Cote d’Ivoire. We came together as a musical group in the year 200 when we met in the same high school. We do hip hop/RnB blended with African style ( a new kind of style of music we are bringing to being). We have performed on shows, programs or ceremonies hosted by schools, Organization, and individuals. We write our own songs and sketch the kind of instrumentals we want to play with them before going to the studio to do them, which makes the work easier for the engineer. Presently we live here in Ghana as refugees and even though we find it hard doing this but as we believe, not any body or any situation can bring the dream to an end unless we ourselves decide to do so, because a dream is never killed till the bearer desires to kill it. And we believe it’s better to try and fail then to fail to try, so we never sit back and say that it cannot be till we see that breathing stops, which is the only way to put stop to us. We always pray that God keeps his eyes on the work of our hands so that we never work for nothing. God bless IAG “it’s all good”. (Cheeze and Geemo). Music is life for the IAG. There is no life without music.

Geemo: AKA Dave Garvey Nyema, son of Sara and Soukli Nyema. I was born in the year 1982, July 7 in Mary Land, Liberia. I fled the Liberian civil war in the year 1994 to La Cote d’Ivoire where I schooled at from elementary to senior high level. The activities in my school, especially the talent show helped to bring out my musical talent. I was a member of the junior choir in my church. I am a high school graduate. In 2004 I found myself in Ghana fleeing the Ivoirians civil crisis. I enrolled in SMA (society of Missionaries in Africa) in 2006 and one year later, I went to a computer training institute ( Eagle Nest) and obtained a diploma in Architecture drafting, and A+ (computer hardware and MS Office suite) respectively.

Cheeze: I was born in a part of Liberia called sinoe in the south eastern region in the year 1983 June 28, by the couple Mr. and Mrs. George Farley. I came to be a famous child due to the natural art that was found within. At age 4 my parents took me to Monrovia because I was poisoned and other threats that they saw that people wanted me dead. There I was till the war came and I was taken to Ivory Coast for refuge due to the Liberian civil war. There at age nine that my uncle Able got to understand my role as a musical artist and started directing me to that side of life. I did my first performance at age nine on the first refugee day show hosted by John Scabrick, the UNCHR protection officer in Ivory Coast at the time. I became a famous child again and my mother changed my place of stay for the fear that I was not going to pay attention to school if I was going to stay there. So I was on where I had no more time for music again but only had time for my studies till the time for the mission was over and was taken back to Liberia since it was a mission of some missionaries from Liberia. But I could not return home due to some reasons, so I went back to the side of Ivory Coast where my mother was so that I could continue school. There I meet Geemo and we found our school with lot of activities including music and we came with the idea of forming a group which extended to here in Ghana when war broke out in the Ivory Coast. And here we are in Ghana still keeping the dream on. IAG “it’s all good” no matter the case.
