Formed in the frigid month of November 2009, the three that make up GSAFS met in a local rehearsal space for an impromptu jam session. They soon clicked and the music started to formulate and flow at a rapid pace. Each member of the group brings their own influences and style to the music created. Timothy Packford (guitar/vox) has played in numerous projects based out of Victoria ranging from blues bands to gloomy goth combos. Richard Katynski (bass) was a member of the popular Vancouver band ''Waltz Darling'' and has participated in other projects. Mo Sherwood (drums) has manned the drum stool with many acts over the years, the most recent being the popular Celtic Roots band The Town Pants. Though Gold Stars Are For Suckers is a relatively new project, we strive to keep the music fresh and vibrant through exploration and incorporation of our many different influences which include the Ramones, the Damned, the Pixies, Joe Jackson... just to name a few. The album, recorded at Vancouver''s ''Greenhouse Studios'' by Chris Holmes and produced by Mark Henning (Guilty About Girls, Pure), will give the listener a clear idea of what we''re about. Enjoy
