Details:
Noah’s Ark is the new album from Matthew Robins. Captured live in one night at the People Show Studios in Bethnal Green, London, Matthew and his band perform their favourite songs in front of an enthusiatic audience. Matthew thinks that if he had been around he would have quite liked to have been the band on Noah’s Ark. Or maybe the Titanic. Especially because a lot of his songs are about animals, especially wolves (The Frozen Wolf, Ooh I’m Howling). Some of the other songs on this album are love songs (Peter, Nosferatu & Me). Some are about both (A Snake bit my Hand), and there is a new song about his neighbour, who has consistantly been banging on the ceiling and trying to get Matthew to shut up for over two years now.
Some of the songs have been written with other peoople, including a few pieces from Sad Lucy: a fish opera - a song cycle written in collaboration with Viviane Schwarz, and songs written with Tim Spooner and Alexia Anastasiadis. Matthew also brings us further updates of Fox News - a gift-giving, egg-burying fox that lives in Matthew’s garden and leaves messages on his back doors step.
There are also episodes from The Death of Flyboy, an episodic romantic science-fiction shadow-opera.
The album features also features a new comic book adventure from the Chronicles of Sqonion, a silent pink alien.

The world of Matthew Robins has been described as:
“as borderless as its creator’s imagination” and “simultaneously homely, sinister and one of the most engaging live experiences you’ll encouter this year” by Timeout

and “sinister folk tunes from songwriter Matthew Robins that recall the soundtrack to The Wicker Man.” by the Evening Standard.

Animations Online say - “The many different yet integrated stories invade the normal with the gently surreal. Unlikely friendships and non sequiturs keep what is ostensibly simple constantly fresh. Robins'' tales are not constrained by the pressure to provide logical endings, and frequently include hilariously spurious lines that are allowed to lead nowhere”

The album also features guest backing vocals from Hester Goodman, singer and musician and member of the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain.
