Mike Taylor, aka MTmoney, was born in Minneapolis Minnesota to a single mother of 6. He’s 24 years old and moved to the Northwest when he was 12 to a city called Bellingham Washington.
Having a lot less money then most of his new peers, and often feeling like he had nobody to confide in, Mike turned to music as a release. In 2005 he became the first in his family to ever graduate high school, but unfortunately shortly after that he found himself on his way to prison for 2 years as a result of committing a robbery.
While incarcerated, Mike continued to write and record music and upon his release in 2007 his city welcomed him back with open arms. He began recording like a mad-man and soon the buzz around his music was growing at a fast rate. He has been through a lot, both bad and good, and those experiences are the foundation of his music. Mike just hopes to be heard and to represent Northwest hip-hop in a way that has yet to be seen…
