We hear stories like this all the time! We think that the reason 69 Minutes of Frogs is so different than many nature CD''s or sound machines is because it doesn''t rely on "looping" sounds, which can keep you awake as you unconsciously listen for the "loop" to begin again. Additionally, the seemingly inherent randomness of the frog calls helps to soothe you so that other extraneous noises are blocked out or don''t seem so jarring. So many people tell us that their kids fall asleep to this album and we have kept the recording all on one track so that there are no interruptions at all. We hear folks say that when they listen to these frogs, they feel their heartbeat slow and their whole body relax. That''s wonderful!

That isn''t to say this is a "quiet" nature album, exactly. This is really about something else - something dynamic. These frogs can get quite emotional and can be amazingly vocal , and yet we''re never, ever told that it is jarring or wakes anyone. Rather, similar to what classical music symphonies aspire to, this chorus of several kinds of frogs indigenous to the Blue Ridge Mountains of Southwestern Virginia, USA builds and ebbs in such a way that the listener is enfolded in dynamic, joyful movement. What better way to feel like it''s spring again?

The recording Artist: A beloved musician and composer in his own right, when Eric Lanoue records the sounds in the mountains around him, he prefers not to add anything human to them. He thinks they''re just right on their own, and we agree! All you''ll get is exactly what he heard on the night of "69 Minutes of Frogs".

Enjoy!
