Details:
Edward Jerome Adams was born in the small town of Woodbury, New Jersey and raised in Pasadena, California. He was introduced to the game of rhymes by his dad, Cecil Adams, and those same critical core qualities were also reinforced by his mother, Victoria Adams. Edward still credits the Adams family for his musical talents, and for continuously playing music nonstop throughout his home as an adolescent. His life''s work is recognized as paying homage to his early exposure to music, by supportive, visionary parents.
Even as a youth, Edward developed a taste for refined artists whom most of his peers had yet to stumble upon. It was the likes of the smooth soul of Luther Vandross, as well as the classic vibes from Frankie Beverly and Maze, that inspired Edward to develop his own voice and talent. The legacies of other prolific artists like Mahalia Jackson, Earth Wind and Fire, catapulted Edward to desire even greater things for his own lyrical gifts.
Edward found a medium in which to express his love for song in the early Church. The addition of Spiritual songs brought an awareness that his talent was in fact a gift, a gift which Edward had every intent on using to magnify his Lord. From humble beginnings singing alongside church choirs, to performances in school Glee clubs, as well as neighborhood singing groups, Edward learned the intangibles of melody, working with different people, styles, and talents, as well a perfecting his own craft.
Edward developed the discipline and fun of music during his middle school years. Along with a few close cousins, Edward took his budding talents to the world famous Venice Beach open air arenas, as live performing artists. The often critical Venice beach crowd, who were known for eagerly offering harsh critiques and even ridicule, actually served as positive stepping stones by boosting the passionate cousins self-esteem, as their performances often ended in repeated applause and even encores.
Another pivotal breakthrough happened during Edward''s High School years. Due in part for the consistent mentoring of his music teacher, Ms. Blumell, Edward auditioned for a role in the hit High School musical, "Grease". Not only did Edward earn a role in the musical, but he won the leading role. Armed with a rapidly expanding resume, and the belief of family and friends, it began to set in that music was the desire of his heart which would be with him always and serve as a means to bring glory to God.
As an adult, Edward has sung the lead role in many church services, worked on collaborations with up and coming artists, written numerous songs, and used his gifts to give back to his community, by serving in adolescent musical productions. It is the ardent desire of Edward to continue to glorify GOD with his talents, and share with the world the same joy which music has given to him over his lifetime. This year marks the vision, of Edwards long anticipated album, showcasing the musical genius which has been in the process of refinement. Edward Jerome Adams has begun to dream.
