The Hamburg Klezmer Band is a young and virtuosic ensemble. The musicians have their Jewish roots mostly in the countries of the former Soviet Union. The ensemble consists of five musically high experiences professionals who are active in various projects worldwide, and combines the love of Yiddish music and of the other Eastern European cultures. Hamburg Klezmer Band plays an extremely versatile and varied program of Jewish, Moldavian, Ukrainian and Romanian music, deeply rooted and highly virtuosic, with lots of soul and unbridled danceble. The band plays a part authentic and true to tradition, on the other hand, it likes new approaches and make occasional trips to other genres and cultures. This musical offering makes the performance of the band exciting and unique - a great mix of tradition and modernity. In October 2008 the band played as a guest artist of Klezmatics in "Fabrik" in Hamburg. Since 2009 the internationally acclaimed klezmer clarinetist, Christian Dawid from Berlin plays with the band.
