About Time was composed for many reasons. Partly because I finally have ''time'' to do something like this. Some of the song ideas on this project were created many years ago and I''m so glad to be able to capture them digitally now. Song ideas come to me at different times - usually when white noise is present. Some of the best rhythms come to me as I''m driving down the road listening to the buzz of the engine or drone of the tires. La Guitarra Viva came to me as we were sitting down to a spaghetti dinner! Inspiration comes at crazy moments. I grew up listening to my parents 50''s rock and roll which I think helped establish my sense of melody. I started taking classical guitar at the age of 7 and continued for about 10 years until I heard my first Kiss album. I grew up in a great time for guitarists. It was the 80''s and soon came players like Randy Rhoads, George Lynch, Neal Schon, Eddie Van Halen, Steve Lukather and Warren DeMartini - I idolized them all. There will never be another time when such great talent flowed - don''t get me wrong I also have a great appreciation for players like Les Paul, Wes Montgomery, Andres Segovia, and George Benson. I am still searching for great guitar tones and hope to share them on future releases. Maybe some day I will find a singer - until then, my guitar is the voice in my head. I hope you enjoy this - it was truly About Time..
