Details:
Span of Sunshine has deftly thought out vocal harmonies against a sometimes simple, sometimes complex arrangement that changes midstream. Members of Letters to Beany in the band had the opportunity to witness Ed''s Redeeming Qualities in Boston late 80''s and share the stage. A Sherwood Anderson feel set to banjo at one turn, the Beach Boys attempting Zappa and the Pixies at the next, members of ''Span'' were also influenced by their years in Northampton based band Dingo Roi. Songwriter Steve Koziol has hosted anniversary shows at the Flywheel Arts Collective in Easthampton, MA while performing solo shows, comedy acts, skits, and a puppet show rock opera in the same space. The 12 song CD by Span of Sunshine, crafted, produced/engineered by Norm DeMoura at Harmonium Studio in Haydenville, MA and mastered by Jeff Lipton at Peerless Mastering, Newtonville,MA. Drummer on 9 tracks, Mike Levesque has toured with large acts and played on big albums. The Span of Sunshine CD ''This must be the Present'' is a progression from morning to evening, though each song holds its own as pop glue for your cocclear message board. This album dares you to listen to it as a whole album, on a great sound system in an era which may suggest otherwise.
