Her history as a singer-songwriter began during a summer afternoon, while she was writing her first song with her first guitar, a gift of few days before. She was 14. While she was becoming a woman, she played. She became a woman by playing. She spent years in her wonderful island until she got her school-leaving certificate. During this period she took part in musical projects, that were different in style and genre and so different her nature was: changeable and curious. Later she matriculated to the University of Music and Show History and moved to Siena (Tuscany). The lively atmosphere of such ancient universities and the goads, that the numerous events organised by Siena Jazz gave (to) her, made Simona mature. Her wish to make her music dream a concrete reality was in constant growth. She packed her suitcase and went to Milan, thinking it was the right place. Life there is different and complicated. She met many musicians and with some played her new repertoire. This time in English. In that period the meeting with her current producer, Ivan Ciccarelli, was fundamental: he noticed her talent and supported her in the various music adventures. In that period English language represented for her a good way to communicate with the world and so she decided to move again to London. She made her living on working as shop-assistant in Camden Town. Despite the rich experience, Simona understood that she did not find the way to her heart. Since then she went through a period of confusion and artistic sterility. Who am I? Where do I come from? Where do I want to go? What do I want to tell? These questions occupied her mind without finding real answers. Yes, people say answers are in our inner-self and so it was. Music promptly started to bright again and helped Simona to meet herself, her Origins. ALBUM âCHISTIONADA DE MEIâ Her Origins gave life to her first album âChistionada de meiâ (it speaks about me), which is sung in Campidanese, that is, a Sardinian language of a minority disseminated in nearly all the island. Sardinian music in closed for its nature to external contaminations, but it is unexpectedly opened to the musical evolution and the international influences of this album in which Simona recalls memories and scents of the past, customs and traditions without melancholy but with the look of who follows the fast sliding time
