Details:
Coal Vig, the 1996 album from Vacuum Tree Head, is a key moment in the evolution of the band. Richard E. Barber joins, and his expert woodwind and keyboard stylings bring a new level of musicianship to the proceedings. Musically, this album is something of a tribute to the sounds and ideas of the post-WWI European art scene. Neoclassic cubism? Rocking Dada? What is this music which defies description? Can the ocean be "described"? [Thank you, Mr. Conrad Roberts]. Seriously, though, this is a great album. And you need to hear it to really appreciate what''s going on. Vocals by Hillary Pryde, drums by Thomas Scandura (Molecules, Dirty Patina), Matthew Waldron (https://www.tradebit.com.(ext.), Nurse With Wound) on bass guitar, appearances by Ron Anderson, Glenn Sorvisto, Rale Sidebottom, James Rodenborn - what''s not to like?
