The four cosmic entities that comprise TWRP (also known in longhand as Tupper Ware Remix Party) have inhabited the bodies of four earth-dwelling humans, and have been playing danceable space-rock for the past three years across Eastern Canada. Since their conception as a band three years ago, TWRP has truly established a name for themselves as a formidably fun party band.
The specific genre of music that TWRP plays is difficult to pinpoint, though one might describe it as the illegitimate love-child of 80s metal and modern electronic/house music, born in a black hole. Their genre-blurring style has found a way into the hearts and gyrating hips of many, and this is shown through an eclectic list of shows dating back to 2007.
In addition to their infectious space-rock, TWRP is known for their elaborate and absurd personas. Not only do their hilarious costumes of shiny spandex suits and pylon masks command people’s attention, but it breaks down barriers with the audience and encourages them to throw their inhibitions to the wind – an invaluable trait for a band that plays dance music.
