Born and raised in the Great Lakes State, Sam Corbin found his calling at the age of 16 when he picked up the guitar for the first time. He started out in local coffee houses and bars near his hometown of Lansing, playing original music with an acoustic trio named Sammy and the Conmen. After experiencing some success on a local level the group recorded and released a full length album "Beneath the Line" in the summer of 2002.
Sam left the group in early 2003 in pursuit of a career as a solo artist spending the next 3 years touring his home state of Michigan along with traveling up and down the east coast of the United States performing his original material and writing about the experience. His songwriting is strong, personal, and honest, influenced by artists ranging from Nick Drake and Elliott Smith to Leanord Cohen and Bob Dylan.
Immersing himself in the Michigan folk roots scene, Sam has grown as a singer, songwriter, and musician learning multiple instruments including mandolin, dobro, guitar, and harmonica. His music has been heard all over the east side of the country at places like the Purple Fiddle in Thomas, West Virginia, Langden Street Cafe in Montpelier, Vermont, and the Sidewalk Cafe in New York City. Currently playing upwards of 200 shows a year, Sam released his first full length studio album in March of 2006 entitled "Goodnight Candlelight".
